ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm Annette Fritz ,
a passionate and professional
Violinist from picturesque Tyrol.

AT heart
Discover creative paths into the world of music.
My heart beats above all for contemporary music, because this is where I can make the most of my creative potential. I love the richness of sound colours and pushing musical boundaries. But it doesn't always have to be contemporary—in my concerts, regardless of the style, I always look for innovative concepts to combine unusual ideas with high musical quality, place music in new contexts, and surprise the audience repeatedly.
My commitment to new formats sometimes takes unusual paths. In keeping with the spirit of my ELEVATED ECHOS concert series, I also trained as a Tyrolean mountain hiking guide. I didn't just want to live my passion for music and nature side by side; I wanted to interweave them.
I also share my enthusiasm for music with the arte frizzante chamber orchestra, the WirkWerk ensemble, and as artistic director of the Walzerklang ensemble. Here, I not only lead the orchestra as a stand-up violinist but also enjoy designing concert programmes that combine tradition with fresh, humorous ideas.

Awards
Excellent art and
innovative sounds.
In 2019, I had the honour of taking part in the Tiroler Klassik Instrumentalistenpreis with a piece by Werner Pirchnerand winning the Jeunesse Prize. For my work as artistic director of Ensemble Walzerklang, I was honoured with a scholarship from the SYLFF Tokyo Foundation in 2022.
My concert series ELEVATED ECHOS was included in the renowned funding programme "The New Austrian Sound of Music" (NASOM), which means that I will be supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs in 2025/26. This has taken me on concert tours to Tansania and Ethiopia, among other places.
I also received a grant from the state of Tyrol for this project, which additionally recognises my work and my commitment to new concert formats.
